Toray Industries, Inc., has developed the world's first 100% bio-based adipic acid for nylon 66 production, sourced from sugars derived from inedible biomass such as crop residues, employing microbial fermentation, genetic engineering to enhance metabolic pathways in microorganisms, bioinformatics for optimal fermentation pathways, and reverse osmosis separation membranes in the purification process, with a goal to commercialize by 2030, thereby addressing sustainability challenges and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the nylon 66 industry.

Our cell-cultured seafood is made directly from fish cells 1. Our products are made from an initial sample sourced from a desired fish species. We source a variety of cell types from the initial sample.. 2. We allow the cells to multiply just as they would in nature by feeding them a mixture of nutrients, such as amino acids, salts, sugars, and vitamins. 3. Next, the cells are concentrated and formed into a seafood portion using processes that are utilized in the food industry. 4. The result is a product with the same sensory qualities and nutritional value of the traditional seafood products we all enjoy.
